The New Babies

Every morning since spring, the Robins nest outside our living room window has been occupied by babies. Its so neat to watch from the time they lay the eggs until the mother teaches them to fly and chirps and follows them around the yard until they do. The second batch of babies, she spent all day teaching one at a time how to fly. We watched as she just guided them along until they finally flew. I love the stage where they are losing the fluffy feathers. The little one on the right looks like he has horns because he still has some little fluffy ones.
The first batch we had, we thought they were falling out of the tree. So we scooped them up and put them back in the nest only to find out they were being taught to fly. ha ha So we watched as she taught them. The second time around we knew what she was doing. It was such a great site to see. I just love nature.

Dakotas big Catch

Dakota really felt bad missing a weekend at his dad's. But he had to go to Joe's fireman's picnic. He knew his sister was bummed about not getting to catch a fish with her hands because of her cast. So he had to catch him and her one.

mom's Asian family

Mom bought a cute frame to match her living room. The only problem was that she didn't have a picture for it. So it hung on her wall with an Asian family it it for a few months. We did have friends comment on who the Asian family was or are we Asian as well? So when we had all the kids one weekend, I decided to get the kids out and take some pictures to fill that frame. It's finally filled with family! Every now and then they snuck in a funny face on me.

Aubreys Appendix

April first was the day! We had gone in two days before twice to the ER. The third day finally they figured out it was her appendix. Almost everyone though it was an April fools joke that she was in the hospital getting out her appendix. This just hasn't been Aubrey's year. It has been rough for her. She thinks its because her age is an odd number and odds are bad luck. She thought it was pretty cool though that when she couldn't sleep they brought her chocolate ice cream at 3 in the morning. And now she goes all over showing people her scar.

Aubrey was already having a tough weekend and she had to show me how high Dakota could bounce her. She landed wrong on her wrist and two days later we found out she had broke it. But it made her happier to get her favorite color as a cast. Thank goodness it wasn't a bad break. She talked the doctor into letting her have a brace after two weeks with the cast. Her first broken bone thank goodness. She is accident prone.

Piano Recital

My baby girl started taking piano lessons in August. She is doing great! This is her first Piano recital. She played Deck the Halls. And had it memorized. She was a little nervous in front of people but she still did great. I wish I could of figured out my camera before this because I cut off the beginning. She introduced herself and said what song she was playing. at the end she was supposed to bow. But instead sucked in her cheeks and smiled. She walks by the piano and still plays this song. I can't wait for her to learn a new one. But I think, since this was her first song she learned, she will never forget it.

Joe Helped us set up the Christmas this year. It really made us feel like a family. Except the kids were upset that Joe did not have a stocking. So Aubrey one day was in the dollar store and came running over with this huge stocking for Joe. Of coarse we had to get it. It didn't have anything Harley on it but we still liked it. We just added a few personal touches to it. :)
